How to help your dog beat the Winter Doldrums

Wintry weather can limit the time that our pets can spend outside, but our dogs still need stimulation to relax and burn off energy.

1. Make them work for meals and treats.

Have some fun with your dog and and hide their meals and treats. You can hide your dogs meal inside of a fun toy or puzzle. You can hide the food around different parts of the home (treasure hunt) while stimulating your dogs problem solving abilities an critical thinking skills.

2. Play fetch inside.

Does your dog have a favorite toy or ball? If you have the room, throw the ball inside. If not, take that favorite toy and throw it throughout the house. Not only will your dog have some indoor fun, but it will strengthen your bond with your beloved pet as well.

3. Play hide and seek.

This is one of our favorite activities in our home. Scrumbles knows the game well! One family member will hold the pet in one room, while another family member goes and hides. Then after a set period of time: we let him go! It's absolutely hysterical for all involved to watch our pet sniffing and looking for us throughout the home.

4. Send your pet to Becca's house!

Does your dog have a favorite toy or ball? If you have the room, throw the ball inside. If not, take that favorite toy and throw it throughout the house. Not only will your dog have some indoor fun, but it will strengthen your bond with your beloved pet as well.

When you ask your pet, want to go to Becca's? They inevitably start wagging their tail and perking up their ears excitedly. Since I am a full service Dog Sitter, my team and I have all the fun toys for our 4 legged guests and also 1 or 2 (max) other dogs to play with! We have new, interesting treats (if owner approved) and of course lots of new scents around my fully fenced in yard and home.

My team and I pride ourselves on spoiling your dog, with Dog walks, Dog sitting and lots of love and praise!

*Addendum: Kitty Cat friends also spoiled on a daily basis at their home.
